The Results are In
Over the last couple of weeks we have been running a survey asking you which you see as most important when you buy golf clubs: Brand, Price or Fit?
Well I can tell you the results were overwhelming in favour of Fit, with 75% of you thinking this was most important. 9% of you though that Price was most important and 16% thought that Brand was the most important criteria when buying golf clubs.

Christmas Ideas
Another week closer to Xmas and I am sure you are all well organised and have almost finished your Xmas shopping!!
If any of you need extra presents or are still dropping heavy hints at home remember to tell your friends and family that they can come to Wortley GC and buy you presents…
We have free parking, no long lines to wait in, friendly staff (unlike Mhell) and free mince pies.
Complete hassle free Xmas shopping. They can then have a very pleasant drink.. maybe a mulled wine… by a roaring log fire in the clubhouse afterwards.. Heaven.
Christmas Draw
There is still time to enter the Xmas draw in the shop. The draw will run through to Xmas with the winners revealed in the week running up to New Year. Lots of Fabulous prizes to be won for the 8 lucky winners.
FREE Ball personalisation
The FREE ball personalisation offer from Titleist ends on the 12th Dec. This is a great offer and so easy to do. Simply follow the instructions here and click order, you will be contacted when the balls arrive then just come into the shop pick up and pay for the balls.
Those of you who were at the members forum will be aware of the new branding. In line with this we now have a lovely new badge for club sweaters etc which can include the heritage mark of 1894. Ask in the shop for details, We can have this badge put on most garments as well as the classic club sweater.
Festive Clubhouse
Christmas Tree and Decorations were put up on Tuesday by the Ladies section and helpers and as usual the Clubhouse looks very festive and cosy especially with a roaring log fire.
Clubhouse Painting
Work continues on the painting of the clubhouse which looking fantastic, the powers of a coat of paint or two. The pro shop and office also now match the clubhouse giving the whole club a great look and feel going into 2017.
Saturday evening was the Xmas Party which was a fabulous evening of food and entertainment, Everyone enjoyed a 3 course meal and entertainment from Chris Dee.
Winter Stableford 3
Saturday was another fine golfing day with 70 players entering the Winter Stableford 3. We had some excellent scoring but the Top 3 were:
1st, Richard Exton - 40 pts. 2nd, Ian Crossley - 39 pts. 3rd, Andrew Wilson - 38 pts (3rd on a countback)
There was 11 two's 3 of them by John Richards who had two's on the 3rd, 5th and 9th Holes! Good going John. The two's club paid out £6.37 per two.
