We are pleased to welcome Will Hawksworth to the Pro Shop team, Will started on 1st of Feb and is settling in well ..if you havnt already do pop in and introduce yourself.


A Wash Out

Finally the weather has caught up with us! The weekend was a wash out with snow and rain giving us our 1st none golfing weekend of the winter, let's hope it's the only one! It's always difficult at this time of year watching the pros out on tour following the sun playing in shirts while we freeze our ---- off in our waterproofs! 

Still hopefully not too long now before we can see the end of winter and look forward ourselves to some better golfing weather. 


Tour News

Last weekend we saw some fabulous golf with Wiesberger having a record 9 birdies on the trot in his 2nd round and Fabrizio Zanotti from Paraguay shooting a 9 under par 63 to come from six shots behind Danny Willet to win his 2nd European tour event. 

On the PGA tour Jordan Spieth won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to win his 9th PGA tour event making him the 2nd youngest after Tiger Woods to win 9 events at 23 years of age. 

This Week's events on the tours are the Genesis Open at Riviera on the PGA Tour and the World Super 6 in Perth on the European Tour a new event idea which will see Stroke play as normal for the first 54 holes followed by an exciting knockout match play format for Sunday's final round…be interesting to see how that is received by players and fans. Maybe we could try something similar at Wortley?!!


 

Winter League

We were sadly weathered off this weekend so no winter league.. Hopefully this Weekend we get some luck with mother nature as we have winter league and Good Companions to fit in..

New Arrivals

Lots of exciting new things are starting to filter into the shop at this time of the year, we have some new ladies items, some new golf balls from Srixon, Wilson and Titleist, New wedges from Cleveland with the Wedge analyzer! A very fancy wee gadget to help get the correct wedge for your style of play. We have had a range of Wilson clubs in which are receiving rave reviews in the magazines and online..we have new bags and putters also and much more to come.

Don't Miss Out...

All being well and weather permitting we have Winter League round 12 on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th we have Good Companions round 5. 

Don't forget the very popular Quiz night this Friday … Put your names down in the clubhouse. 

Also there is course work coming up on Sunday 12th March. I will remind you of this again nearer the time but just a note to let you know of the upcoming work on the course.
