St Georges Day Trophy
We had a busy Weekend with the St Georges Day Trophy on Saturday and the Endeavour round one on Sunday. St Georges Day Trophy is always very popular and 2017 was no exception with 134 players taking to the course in a bid to win this prestigious board competition.
A gentleman or lady can win this event played over 18 holes stableford. This year's champion was Brian Gill with 42 points, beating Howard Burton narrowly by one point, excellent scoring from both guys with Andrew Wilson and Martin Allatt on 39 points and John Richards on 37 points. The ladies winner was Caroline Taylor who had 37 points, beating Alison Stenson by three points. Special mention to Jean Bloodworth who had 33 points in her first full 18 holes for some time, and to Margaret Wood who like Jean hasn't played the full course in a while and returned 24 points.
To Sunday and the Endeavour round one. This event is medal play to qualify for the match play stages later in the year. The competition is played in two handicap divisions, 0-13 and 14-28. Division one was won by Andrew Wilson, who continued his good form from Saturday to post a 66 which won by four shots from Steve Newton with the other qualifiers in this division being Shaun Gregory 72 and Adam Barraclough 74.
Division two was won by Andrew Smith who just beat Martin Sidall on a countback both had excellent 68's George Smith and Ian Crossley were the other qualifiers from this division with 69's.

Lynx Fitting Day
Thursday, 27 April will be our first demo day of 2017, we have a few planned for later in the year but Thursday we host Lynx or Lynz for those eagle eyed spell checkers from last week's mail.
The session will be from 11am until 3pm, with 30 min appointments made through the pro shop. You can of course just wander down and have a go with the Lynx irons and woods, but for a proper fitting from the Lynx club fitter I would recommend booking a slot.
