Venables Silver Salver
Trophy competitions are always that bit special with a chance to get your name on the honours board for all eternity, last week was the Venables Silver Salver. It was a keenly contested event with four players in a tie for the title. George Smith continued his good form scoring +1 in the bogey score format, along with Chris Masters and Mark Harrison, but it was Andrew Collings who came out on the right side of a countback to take the Silver Salver. Andrew will be defending his Sheffield Union seniors title at Wath next month, so we wish him all the best with that, maybe a trophy win at Wortley is the perfect preparation.

Well You Made That Clear…
Each month we run a new poll on our website which allows you to have your say on the latest golfing topics. As you can see in the image here, last month's poll saw an overwhelming majority of you ( 74% ) vote against the use of video evidence in golf. Recently the R&A issued a new Decision on the Rules of Golf to limit the use of video evidence in the game after Lexi Thompson was penalised four strokes in a ladies major after a TV viewer contacted the LPGA to inform them there had been an infringement the previous day. This move by the R&A has been welcomed with open arms by many people, including tour players and pundits both sides of the pond.
For June we are asking you to vote on one of golf's longest standing question: what is the best men's golf major? The early running indicates it's between the Masters and The Open, but click on the link below to cast your vote.
Take June's poll now.
