Captain's Day Saturday was Captain’s Day, a fabulous days golf with 127 of our members taking part in the stableford competition. There were prizes for gents, ladies and juniors on offer, and scoring was very difficult with the course set up having some challenging pin placements. The cheeky front pin location on the 9th hole didn’t stop Mark Gregory from recording a nice little hole in one though. The winning score for the gents was 36 points, and there were two players tied on 36 points but Shaun Gregory won on a countback over Richard Silcock. In third place was Paul Hanson on 35 points, with Ronnie Erskine and Kevin Denton fourth and fifth place also on 35 points. In the ladies competition, Caroline Taylor was the winner with 34 points beating Margaret Hatfield and Carole Kelly into second and third on 30 points. The junior winner was Tom Collings who continued his form into Sunday by winning the Gents Medal beating John Ramsden on a countback, both had excellent scores of 67.
