Another busy week Back at Wortley this last weekend we had a busy few days with a Pro’s Stableford on Saturday and the ever popular golfer none golfer on Sunday. Saturday saw 63 members compete in the Stableford and the winner was Bob Bennett who is returning to some form of late. Bob had an excellent 40 points which was four better than his nearest rivals on 36 points. There were five players who had 36 points and in order of countback were Nathan Hennessy, Immediate Past Captain Chris Singleton, Stuart Davies, John Ramsden and Paul Hanson. The top four players each received shop vouchers and the nearest the pin on the 16th was won by John Lomas who won a dozen Srixon AD333 golf balls. To Sunday and the Golfer non-Golfer event. 70 players 35 members and their none golfer partners took the course in the afternoon for a fun competition that had the golfers play to the green and the none golfers finish off with the putter, prizes were given for the best two stableford scores and for the least number of putts by a none golfer. 1st Mick Carr and his partner with 23 points 2nd Graham Calderbank and his Partner with 21points
Least Putts went to Sylvia Bradley with 22 putts and in second Alan Calderbanks Partner with 25 putts. Nearest the pin was won by Lee Broad who can’t stop winning at the moment with his new Wilson irons (Shameless Plug)
