Who's been winning what? Last week, I forgot to mention a few people who had won notable events, those were; Carole Kelly who won the Ladies Medal Final back on Saturday 8th September beating Caroline Taylor on a countback. Both ladies had nett 70 rounds, beating Alsion Stenson into third on 71. Well done Carole. And Oliver Hutton who won the juniors Keay Trophy with an excellent 39 points, beating Tom Collings into second and Tom Beaumont into third. Well done Oliver keep it going. Back to this past week’s events... On Thursday 20th September, Jo Oxley won the Ladies Past Captains Trophy by four shots over Lynn Wilcox. Jo scored 39 points to win this year’s event. On the same day, the gents had a stableford and this was won by Neal Kennedy who had 29 points in very trying conditions. Joint second on 28 points were; Ged Gamble, Mike Peasgood, Tony Burgess and Kirk Dyson. On Saturday 22nd September, it was the Ladies Challenge Final. Alison Stenson was the winner with nett 75 beating Pat Smith on a countback, third was Janet Moorhouse on 80. Also, Saturday was the gents Gold Medal Final, this years winner was Adrian Barnes who scored a fabulous round of 67 to win this coveted title for the first time. Andrew Smith, Steve Osguthorpe and Scott Beeby who all had very decent rounds of nett 69. For the non-qualifiers, we had an Extra Medal which was won by George Clark on nett 70 with Peter Marsh just behind with 73.
