Something a little different... Last Saturday, we tried to have a bit of fun and something different with a modified Stableford points competition; a take on what they play on the PGA Tour in the Barracuda Championship. The way it worked was; you’d get five points for an eagle, three points for a birdie, one point for a par, zero points for a bogey and -1 points for a double-bogey or worse. Some loved it, some were not so sure but in the main, I think most players enjoyed something different for the Winter League holiday week. Brian Gill obviously loved it with a fabulous 30 points winning by four points over Justin Smith with 26 points, who beat Terry Steel into third place on 25 points. We also had a hidden hole’s prize which was won by Peter Saint scoring an amazing 12 points over hidden holes 1,9,10 and 17. Well done to all who played and thank you for trying out the funky scoring.
Back to business next week with the Winter League.
