Welcome to this week's newsletter.

Week two of the latest lockdown I hope you are managing to keep well and positive and starting to look forward to the start of the golf season. I know it seems a long way off, but hopefully somewhere around the mid/back end of February will see some movement in the return of recreational sports. After that we only have a few weeks to practice before we have the Masters in April and the start of the golf season. 2021 will hopefully see more normality return to our golf club with a full season of events to enjoy. Let's at least hope that is what 2021 has in store for us.

Lots of new product is being released in the next few weeks, some of which will be available from Wortley Golf Club in due course. So, if you see anything you'd like to try or want to ask us any questions, send us a message and we'll get back to you.

Christmas Draw

A little later than planned due to the situation! We present the winners of the Christmas Draw.

Thank you to all who entered the draw before lockdown, once again we had a great response given the short time we had to run it this year. Unfortunately we couldn't do the usual clubhouse draw, but instead had to do it behind closed doors.

Congratulations to the prize winners. You can collect your prize or swap for something else to the monetary value.

Golf on Tour

English top in Hawaii

Tour golf is very much a way of life and an unforgiving one at that. As recently as 2019, Harris English was struggling to return to the PGA Tour, having lost his card and been demoted to the Korn Ferry Tour (this is the feeder tour to the PGA, much like the Challenge Tour in Europe).

Now, English is a PGA Tour champion once again. The 31-year-old picked up his first victory since 2013 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, having fought off Justin Thomas’ pursuit of a third title in five years at the event. What an achievement, and one for the sentimentalists.
